An Open Window
Submitted by lenita on Sun, 2007-06-24 21:35
Looking through an open window the future passes by
Visions appear like movies playing out from beginning to end
This is where time stands still in this series of relaxation
Bodies unwind from head to toe melting into the air
Lungs filled with this moment breathe...
Dreaming of far away places while clouds form shapes one by one
In the distance a mountain with one single tree pointing east
A glimpse of a bird in flight brings the realization of freedom in its true form
With eyes closed the sun is warm… sweet...
This moment pours out and flows in many directions
Leading to purity of thought...
purity of mind...
Openness and freedom prevail as the sun sets
The window now closed waits...
To be opened once more and fulfill another journey

Forever Changed
Submitted by lenita on Fri, 2007-05-11 12:11At the door of hope lies my heart
Beating... waiting...
Watching for change to come
Knowing that if I wait long enough it will
This is the way it happens
No turning back now it seems
Impossible to think of the past
Gone like dreams you cannot remember
Forever changing your ideas...
Of what makes you complete
Looking deep within
Pulling away...
Soon there will be just a glimpse of what use to be
Now forever changed

An Extension Of Love
Submitted by lenita on Fri, 2007-05-11 11:29
You have given me all you have
But for now I am broken...
No longer a whole person...
Just here after the storm looking for answers
Though I know you are at peace... resting...
Why than do I feel anger instead of happiness
Frustration instead of calm
Trying so hard to smile...
What right do I have to be angry and why
Spirituality is now... today...
Not when it is convenient and there is no other way
Sharing your legacy with all I know
Helps... To see your light
Shine...
Hoping one day love will endure
And pain subsides...

The Melody
Submitted by lenita on Fri, 2007-05-11 11:23The melody I hear is not the same as yours
But if I listen closely there are similarities
Rising up from within our souls capturing
Our highs and lows...
Through out our lives there is a melody
That plays ... softly
Capturing our uniqueness
Our individual theme...
In the madness we seek
To be heard...

Lost River
Submitted by lenita on Wed, 2007-04-18 20:04They say that there was once a river that flowed
And from the river there were blessings extended to those in need
Many came to lift there hearts up in prayer
Singing and dancing by the fires lit there
Children played... Elders sang... and Shamans brought miracles ...
While the river flowed all remained the same
But in days to come the faces of the river changed
A language not of their own built barriers
This the beginning of the end
The numbers of life lost could not be counted
There were too many ...
Forever changed the river cried out
Lost river I will be named

The Heart of a Soldier
Submitted by lenita on Fri, 2007-04-06 10:30The heart of a soldier
Beats fast and steady for peace
While fighting for a nation with darkness in their eyes
An unfamiliar land is preying upon your soul
Yet you still fight for freedom with integrity so bold
Knowing the tears of their children flow like streams in their streets
You are reminded of your loved ones and your heart skips a beat
In the days and months that go by you become so cold you have forgotten how to cry
Now wondering what you are doing here
Lying awake because you cannot sleep...
As your leaders are snuggled in their beds you are fighting away your fear and dread
At that moment you think to yourself why should you care
Than you see your mother's face looking into your eyes
As she says I love you...
You begin to cry...
Finally tears fall like rain down your face
After all this time you realize...
You are still alive...
