Mary (Harn) SLOAN Peacefully passed away on February 2, 2008 in her daughter's home in Buckley, WA surrounded by her family and her two wonderful caregivers. Mary was preceded in death by John L. Sloan, her husband of 62 years, her infant daughter, Patricia and her son-in-law, Leonard Lewitt. She is survived by her five children, Joan Lewitt, Kent, WA; Peggy Holman (Donald), Tumwater, WA; John Sloan (Elisabeth), Spring, Texas; James Sloan (Ann), Maple Valley, WA; and Marilyn Amer (Bruce), Buckley, WA; as well as 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mary was born in Kent, WA to Joseph and Lena Harn and grew up in Orillia, WA. She and her husband made their home in Seattle; Boulevard Park; Portland, Oregon; Des Moines; and lastly, Renton. A Prayer Vigil will be held at Marlatt's Funeral Home in Kent, WA at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8th. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Enumclaw, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services.
